FAQ
How does it work? TOP
The Evolution Diaper is super easy to use. Simply pull the elastic to your desired size and button to set the adjustment. There's no need to redo the elastic until your ready to change sizes!
Washing and drying your Evolution Diaper TOP
We recommend Biokleen products for washing your diapers. Check out www.biokleenhome.com to find a store near you that sells Biokleen.
Wash and dry new cloth diapers prior to using. Inserts will need to be washed at least 5 times to achieve maximum absorbency.
To extend the life of our cloth diapers and covers, we hang them dry. You can dry your inserts if you like, but we do recommend hang drying diapers. If you dry in the dryer, never adjust elastic until diaper is fully cooled. We use a dry pail on our diapers. If you use a wet pail there’s no need to pre-wash or soak.
- Pre-wash all diapers and inserts through one cold wash cycle.
- Then start your machine back up and fill the washer. Add 1/2 cup baking soda or 2 TBS of Bac-out. Let this agitate for a few minutes to get all the baking soda dissolved and then turn off your machine. You can also add a couple drops of tea tree or lavender essential oils at this time. Let these diapers soak at least 2 hours over night.
- Drain machine and run a wash with hot water, detergent, and if you like you can add 1/2 cup white vinegar when you would add fabric softener. I like to use a Downey ball for this. NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTENER!
Washing Wool TOP
Your wool Evolution Diapers need special care.
Pre-soak any poopy diapers. Do not wash your diapers with wool washes with added lanolin. They will cause the inside of your diaper to repel.
If you have a gentle wool cycle on your washer you may use this cycle on cold with 1-2 TBS of Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Soap. Hang dry. Then apply spray lanolin to the outside of the diaper only.
Hand-wash in a sink of cool to warm water with Dr. Bronner’s. Hang dry. Then apply spray lanolin to the outside of the diaper only.
How many diapers do I need? TOP
We recommend that you have a minimum of 12 diapers. This will mean you may have to wash every day, but it should be a good basic stash.
